YAE symposia on COVID-19
Call for speakers on COVID-19 science
Dear young scholar,
Following our successful first symposium on COVID-19 epidemiology, the Young Academy of Europe invites nominations for speakers on any other kind of
research relevant for the COVID-19 pandemic, including virology,
economics, public health, drug and vaccine development, and
other topics. This ongoing call is open to researchers across Europe – you do not have to be a member or alumnus of the YAE to apply. We plan to put together a series of several events, organized thematically around different aspects of this most pressing of topics.
For nominations, please contact meetings@yacadeuro.org with a brief CV and abstract for the proposed contribution. The symposia will be recorded and distributed on YouTube to reach the maximum audience.
Sincerely,
YAE Board
Recording of the epidemiology symposium
Our first symposium was a resounding success, with three excellent speakers and 165 registered participants.
We were particularly pleased to be able to use open source software
and European servers to hold the virtual meeting. We’ve collected some
feedback that will inform us going forwards, but a length of two hours
seems to be widely appreciated. The recording has already garnered more than 200 views on YouTube:

There is no fixed deadline, as this will be an ongoing call across 2020.
