Introduction
The Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization-International Vaccine Centre (VIDO-InterVac) is inviting applications for the position of Director of Research.
Position
As part of its renewed vision to drive innovation and deliver solutions to its stakeholders, we are looking for a Director of Research to lead our research activities. Reporting to the CEO and as a member of the Senior Leadership team, the Director of Research is responsible for overseeing all discovery research activities, which includes representation of the organization to national and international stakeholders, funders and collaborators, coordination of research activities, attracting research funding, resource allocation, communication and performance.

Required Skills
We are looking for an outstanding individual with a record of accomplishment and expertise in human or animal health research. The successful candidate should demonstrate excellent leadership skills and experience in managing a large research portfolio. A PhD or equivalent degree with a minimum of 8-10 years of research experience is required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team are critical.
