Postdoctoral Fellow - African Swine Fever Saskatoon, SK, Canada


Introduction

The Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization-International Vaccine Centre (VIDO-InterVac), a research institute at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada, The candidate will be expected to work in a team-based research environment and subscribe to VIDO-InterVac’s philosophy of high quality research of relevance to the end user. VIDO-InterVac is a preeminent research institute with its primary focus on microbial pathogenesis and vaccine development against both human and animal pathogens.

Position

Position 1
The successful candidate must have a PhD or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
Experience in molecular virology particularly in constructing viral vectors for vaccine development is desirable. Experience of working with adenovirus\vaccinia virus vectors could be an asset.

Position 2
The successful candidates must have a PhD or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
Experience in molecular virology particular in working in Biocontainment level 3 laboratory is desirable. Experience in working with African swine fever virus could be an asset.

Position 3
The successful candidate must have a PhD or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
Experience in molecular virology particularly isolating and characterizing immortalized ly6mphocye\macrophage cell lines will be desirable. Experience in isolating lymphocytes \ macrophages from animals will be an asset
All positions have flexible start dates and are guaranteed for a term of 2-3 years. Candidates must have obtained their degree within the last 5 years.
